Accomplished and acclaimed Indian filmmaker Mira Nair's films have often crossed cultures. In this Fox Searchlight adaptation of Jhumpa Lahiri's major international bestseller The Namesake, Nair (Vanity Fair, Kama Sutra, Monsoon Wedding) vividly portrays a Hindu family's reality in America.
